Anyone who’s seen the 2002 Richard Gere movie, The Mothman Prophecies, knows the story of the Mothman—beginning with a series of sightings of a strange creature, half-man half-bird, in and around Point Pleasant, WV and culminating in the collapse of a bridge killing 46 people.
But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Eyes of the Mothman takes us deeper into a story that includes a 200-year-old Native American curse, UFOs, a secret government munitions factory, toxic waste, telepathic aliens, men-in-black, and more.
As documentaries go, this is not a great one. But if you’re like me and you love a good History Channel show about DaVinci’s secrets or the Knights Templar or Nostradamus, not because you necessarily believe in such speculation but because you enjoy entertaining the enigmatic and unknown, then you will probably be hypnotized by Eyes of a Mothman.
Watch it on a rainy Saturday afternoon, with no lights on, and see if you don’t start to get creeped out, especially during the section on Indrid Cold…that’s all I’m sayin’.
